Smiles, Samples & Sales – The Royal Welsh Show 2019!
Well, about last week! What a busy, warm and exciting four days at the Royal Welsh Show. We really enjoyed showing off our brand re-fresh to you all! As always, it was great to hear your feedback and have a chat about our wonderful Welsh produce with you all!
Over what was a very busy week, we served over 20,000 samples of our delicious Pembrokeshire Earlies with Welsh butter (Shirgar) and fresh Mint, both in the Foodhall and as a pop up on the Co-op stand – which won best stand at the show! In the Foodhall we were not only providing samples by their thousands, but also selling our 1kg bags of Pembrokeshire Earlies and our wonderful new re-useable canvas shopping bags! In total we sold over 1,600 bags of Pembrokeshire Earlies… now that’s a lot of spuds!
Throughout the week we were also proud to be involved in; supplying Asda with a produce display for their stand, talking about our Pembrokeshire Earlies Protected Geographical Indicator Status in a Protected Food Names interview on the Hybu Cig Cymru Stand and joining Tesco to discuss the future of fresh produce and the retail industry. We were also heavily involved in supporting Pembrokeshire as the County of the show this year, both displaying Pembrokeshire produce on the Pembrokeshire County Council stand and donating a whole heap of produce to BritGrowers for a commemorative 3ft Puffin in the horticultural tent – which was even visited by the Duchess of Cornwall!
A brilliant, crazy, fun, busy and exhausting week all round.
Thank you to everyone that came to see us and for your continued support of Puffin and Blas y Tir, it was lovely to chat to you all.
If you weren’t able to get to the Royal Welsh Show to grab a sample and a bag of Pembrokeshire Earlies, then don’t worry, we will be at the Pembrokeshire County show in a few weeks’ time!
We look forward to seeing you then! Because #itsnevertooearly… to start prepping for County Show!
